Visitor Guidelines

Dear visitor

By behaving considerately, you are helping to preserve this historically significant, listed castle and park as a cultural heritage site.

• Oberhofen Castle is a museum open to the public, although we do make individual rooms available as event venues. We must show consideration for one another.
• Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the castle rooms; smoking is permitted outdoors. Ashtrays must be used for cigarette ends.
• Dogs are not permitted anywhere on the castle grounds (with the exception of guide dogs and assistance dogs).
• The use of candles or setting off fireworks, including sparklers and candy canes, is prohibited throughout the grounds.
• Bicycles and motorised vehicles are not permitted in the park or on the castle grounds.
• Climbing trees or walls, and walking on flower beds, is not permitted. Please observe the barriers.
• Parents are responsible for their children. No liability is accepted.
• The park is a place for relaxation. Please avoid making noise and playing loud music.
• Events, functions and commercial activities in the park and on the castle grounds require prior authorisation.
• Photo shootings are permitted in rented rooms and in the park with a licence, subject to authorisation. Unfortunately, this is not permitted in the museum area. Filming with drones is prohibited throughout the entire site.
• We ask that you keep the park clean and dispose of rubbish in the bins provided.
• Barbecuing and lighting fires are strictly prohibited.
• Our lawns are not designated for picknick. Sunbathing and swimming on the castle grounds are prohibited.
  
• Picking flowers or fruit on the castle grounds and in the park, as well as fishing, is prohibited.
• Please note the opening hours of the castle museum and the park.

• Events held in the castle and park grounds are always subject to a fee and must be booked through the Oberhofen Castle Foundation.
• The premises must be left in the same condition as they were found upon arrival.
• The times specified in the contract must be adhered to.
• The use of glitter confetti or smoke cannons, the scattering of rice or rose petals, confetti and the like is not permitted. Soap bubbles are permitted outdoors.
• Balloons are prohibited throughout the entire castle grounds, including the park.
• Musical performances must be discussed beforehand with Oberhofen Castle.
• For conservation reasons, dancing in the castle premises is unfortunately not permitted.

Visitors must follow the instructions given by the gardeners, the castle wards and the security staff. In the event of non-compliance or a repeat offence, the costs incurred and any damage caused will be charged.
